About Us

Bhageerath is an independent, autonomous Non-Government Organization registered at Dharwad in 1999 as a society under the Karnataka Society Act of 1960 bearing Registration No.189-1999/2000.

Bhageerath strives to impart education, provide training including supporting field implementation in the sectors of Sustainable Community Development, Water and Sanitation covering Resource Development, Conservation, Community Health, Personal Hygiene, Environment protection and conservation and all associated Technologies.
We have a successful track record of having undertaken several assignments in water, sanitation and health sectors, capacity building of various stakeholder agencies, and awareness generation. We have also developed key and critical infrastructure capable to design, formulate, communicate and implement assignments

Objectives

To establish a Centre for imparting Education, Instructions and Training in Water, Sanitation, Health and Hygiene, Environment and Construction technologies for achieving sustainability in these sectors.

To provide necessary assistance/advice on all technical matters and other allied fields evolve competitive and viable schemes/projects for organizations/individuals engaged in the development of the society, utilizing the rich experience, skill and expertise possessed by the experts serving the centre.

To build an information and documentation Centre on Water, Sanitation, Health, Environment and Construction sectors. Further create database on the construction industry and related information on “clean technologies”.

To collect documents and disseminate information on environmental management. Assess environmental impact of development intervention and thereby provide and advocate clean technologies. Offer assistance and advice on environment and technology management.

Take up health and hygiene education promotional activities especially in rural areas , urban slums and especially amongst women.

To create awareness amongst citizens about environmental issues- those relating to water (drinking, irrigation, waste water), industrial waste, air pollution etc., and help in bringing about behavioural changes in society
